Abbey Petkar Voted CEO Of The Year in Corporate Vision Magazine

I’m honoured to announce that I was recently voted CEO Of The Year in the Corporate Vision Magazine’s 2017 CEO Awards.

Corporate Vision Magazine’s in-house teams voted for their favourite CEO from a shortlist of 12 from across the UK, across a broad range of sectors and businesses of every scale. Each of us were interviewed for our profile, which was presented for the consideration of the voters.

I spoke about Magenta Security’s commitment to the environment through our Reuse, Reduce and Recycle policy, our installation of solar panels and our fuel reductions in our vehicle fleet which all added up to us being a rare example of a carbon-neutral (or better) security company.

Then I emphasised the personal importance that charitable efforts have to me, and how helping others is ultimately what drives me to do better in business. I’ve made sure that this belief is shared company-wide in Magenta Security. Everyone here does their part, whether through local voluntary work or international sponsorship of vulnerable children.

Through our efforts, Magenta Security has inspired the wider security industry to be greener and give more. I’ve given advice to other security companies on how to successfully and efficiently implement green initiatives and have collaborated through group charitable efforts to give more than any of us could have on our own.

My message must have hit home, because amongst some stiff competition and to my surprise, Corporate Vision Magazine voted for me to be CEO Of The Year. It’s reassuring to know that there are so many other people in the business world who share by belief that ethics don’t have to be compromised for profits.

A huge thank you to everyone at Corporate Vision Magazine and I’ll do my best to live up the title.

Stay safe
